100 years ago, the first insulin injection saved Leonard Thompson

This week, it has been 100 years since 14-year-old Leonard Thompson became the first #diabetes patient to receive an #insulin shot. After receiving the second shot, the boy’s condition improved dramatically. From this point forward, #type1diabetes ceased to be a death sentence.
Despite the many significant advancements in diabetes research since that time, we are still facing challenges regarding the treatment and management of the disease.

At ADOCIA, it is our mission to develop innovative formulations of therapeutic proteins and peptides for the treatment of diabetes and metabolic diseases to make medication more affordable and improve the quality of treatment for diabetes patients.
